The VW Golf/Rabbit mk2 has always held a little special place in my automotive hall of honour. When I was 17, I wanted a Golf/Rabbit mk2 GTI so much that I had saved all summer for that particular car; weekly checking Autotrader for local obtainable GTIs and purchasing the VW Golf magazine monthly.

The VW Scirocco has remained with Volkswagen over three generations. The Volkswagen Scirocco is a compact four-passenger (2+2), front-engine, front-wheel-drive sports coupé. A constant name in the VW lineup between 1974 to 1992 and 2008 until 2017.

The VW SP2 is a Brazilian 1970s sports car based on the VW Type 3 platform, originating from the VW beetle. Designed by Mr Schiemann, husband and wife team Rudolf and Helga Leiding and Marcio Piancastelli.

Call it a “Pocket rocket” or a “Wolf in sheep’s clothing” the mighty but small VW Polo G40 was an unusual chapter in Volkswagen’s history. The VW Polo G40 was in production between 1987 and 1994, powered by the tuneful G-Lader supercharger, with a 40mm displacement giving us the VW Polo G40.
